St. Mary's Parish
The urban area of Aras is dominated by the parish of Santa María. Of the original medieval construction from the beginning of the 1549th century, only the foot section with a pointed half-barrel vault is preserved. The current temple is a Gothic-Renaissance reconstruction carried out between 1578 and 1580. Convent of San Juan del Ramo
The hermitage of San Juan del Ramo, which was the old church of the Aldea de Soto, is where the Prince of Viana founded a Franciscan monastery in the 15th century. This Gothic building, now in ruins, preserves part of its perimeter walls, defining a wide rectangular nave with a narrower square head. The church housed a Gothic carving of Saint John, attributed to the Burgundian sculptor Janin de Lome, who has been venerated in Viana since the 17th century after the relocation of the Franciscan friars to that city. Hermitage of Santo Cristo del Humilladero
Inside the town is the hermitage of Santo Cristo del Humilladero, a 17th century construction with a Latin cross plan. The two sections of its nave are covered by groin vaults, the transept by a half-orange dome on pendentives, and the arms and the head by half-barrel vaults with lunettes, all in accordance with the architectural uses of the time. Its ashlar façade is presented as a rectangular parameter with lateral pilasters and a broken triangular pediment, which supports the belfry crowned by a straight pediment. The owner of this church is a Renaissance Crucified from the second third of the 16th century, located in a Mannerist altarpiece from the first half of the 18th century, with a single body of columns composed of a fluted shaft and a split curved pediment.
Hermitage of San Isidro
