A complete visit of the winery will be made, starting at the historic Señorío de Otazu from the 12th century. During the activity, participants become familiar with all the stages that lead a grape grain to become part of a great wine. With the help of the technical team, different blends are played with to understand what the different varieties contribute to the blend until, eventually, arriving at the desired wine, designed by the “new winemakers.” The activity consists of: – Divide the participants into teams. – Each team will be given three red wines, one from each of the grape varieties harvested in the best plots of Otazu (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo). – With the help, supervision and advice of our winemaker, each team will be able to test different “coupages” combining different proportions of each single-varietal wine until achieving “the perfect blend.” – Finally, there will be a blind tasting of the wines proposed by each group as well as the wines already bottled to choose the best one for the majority of the group members. – Participants will be able to have their DOP Pago de Otazu “Private Cellar” wine bottled and labeled exclusively as a unique label will be designed.

Otazu Private Cellar Program: It is a unique experience for VIP participants where the palate and emotions come together to create a 225-liter barrel of a unique blend of red wine.

RECOMMENDED WINES

We have asked Bodegas Otazu to recommend three wines, one for going around the house, for when we have engagement guests or we feel like opening a bottle simply because we feel like it, another for occasions, when a guest comes to us that we want to entertain, and the third, a different wine, one that has been made with special care and that we will not find in other wineries.
