THE LUMBIER GOLF
Circle route. Long Jump 6,5 km. Elevation 286 metres. Estimated tour time: 2 hours.
This route is easy and perfect for a family plan, part of the route runs along the old tracks of the first electric train in Spain, which linked Pamplona, Aoiz and Sangüesa; Today converted into a 6 kilometer greenway.
The route begins in the Foz de Lumbier parking and picnic area, we follow the white and green markings of the local trail SL NA113. We travel about 300 meters and find a fountain and shortly after an intersection, we take the path to the left; After two hundred meters we find a gate, after passing it we take the path to the left at the intersection that we find below.
We go up a track between bushes and 600 meters further on we find a signpost on the right. We ascend and after traveling approximately one kilometer we reach the highest point of the path, there is an information sign and we take the direction to the right towards the Lumbier Gorge.
We began a gentle descent and, after walking another kilometer, we reached the next fork in the road, we left the track to the right, followed the path and at the next intersection we turned left to take the Iratí Greenway.
After traveling about 900 meters of track we enter a tunnel and then there is the legendary bridge over the river, whose construction is attributed to none other than the devil (This is a mysterious local legend) while we enjoy magnificent views of the ravine of the Lumbier Gorge and the overflight of griffon vultures, bearded vultures and other birds that inhabit the place, which was declared a Natural Reserve. To the right there is a path that goes down to a beach where you can take a bath if you wish. The water can be very cold, but in summer it is a gift.
The walls of the ravine are about 150 meters high and the whimsical shapes carved into the rocks are a consequence of the passage of water through them. On the banks there are pine forests. A beautiful and unique landscape.
Another kilometer and 300 meters later we find a second tunnel, a little further on we reach the first intersection of the road and the parking lot that was the starting point of this interesting route.
