THE FOZ OF LUMBIER
The Irati River, with its clean waters, has shaped this steep gorge where vultures nest over the centuries. It can be crossed from one side to the other thanks to the path of what was once a train track, the Irati, which linked Pamplona with Sangüesa, and which was the first electric passenger train in Spain. At the end of the gorge there was a XNUMXth century bridge that was destroyed in the war of independence.

PRACTICAL TIPS
- There is a car park at the entrance to the gorge. You will have to pay a small fee per vehicle. It has an information booth and toilets.
- The access tunnels to the gorge are not long and you will not need a flashlight, the light from your mobile will be enough.
- We recommend descending one of the trails enabled to the river to fully enjoy the landscape.
- If you carry spyglasses you can contemplate the majestic flight of the vultures
- The path to the Devil's Bridge is not well protected and looking over the cliff is somewhat dangerous.
- You can do the roundtrip walk through the foz, which is usually the most common option. The complete tour is a pleasant walk along the riverbank, between cultivated fields and with the mountains as a backdrop.
