There are hotels with history, and the Ayestarán opened in 1912 is the story of an elegant era, when the most illustrious people arrived on the Plazaola train to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. King Baudouin of Belgium, Ernest Hemingway, Orson Wells... spent the night there in a family hotel, declared a Historical Artistic Heritage, and which has all the necessary comforts of modern life. The hotel is made up of two buildings, one open all year round, and the other, with a swimming pool and a large garden, for the summer months.
Tips
-The hotel is in Lekunberri, a place always on the way, full of economic and commercial activity and which preserves an interesting historic center with enormous Basque farmhouses.
-Lekumberri is the starting point to discover the Sierra de Aralar, with its Sanctuary of San Miguel, its caves and its dense forests in which to practice hiking. The Plazaola Greenway is another of its tourist attractions, especially for bicycle lovers. A spectacular environment that is well worth a visit.
-The hotel is the work of Víctor Eusa, one of the best Navarrese architects, and has been declared a Historic Artistic Asset due to its outstanding architecture.
-The hotel is made up of two buildings: El Ayestarán I, open during the summer season, with capacity for 130 people and which has the attraction of its large garden and swimming pool, ideal for relaxing after days in the mountains. The Ayestarán II is open all year round, except Christmas, and has 16 elegant rooms, a bar and a living room. Check availability and prices.
-There is a restaurant, which has an extensive menu of the day €15 on weekdays from January to June, the Ayestarán menu €32,50 (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) and a children's menu on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays at €15. (VAT included). The food is quality, homemade and abundant.

Our restaurant is located in a special enclave, next to a beech forest at the foot of the Sierra de Aralar. Each of the two hotels, located on both sides of the central road of Lekunberri, has its own restaurant but both share the same philosophy: traditional, quality home-cooked cuisine.
In both rooms you can find attractive decoration that preserves the charm of the period in many of the antique furniture in their rooms.
Traditional cuisine, with a predominance of seasonal Navarrese products and top quality meats and fish, as well as exquisite homemade pastries make our restaurants a safe bet to eat well in Navarra.
In both restaurants, different menu possibilities are offered, and in addition, all types of personalized orders are made.
