TABLE OF THE THREE KINGS,
THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN NAVARRE
Linear route. Length 16,1 km. Elevation 1372 metres. Estimated tour time: 7 hours.
The route begins next to the Linza refuge, we cross a bridge at the end of the parking lot and take the GR- 13 path that borders the slopes of La Paquiza and Linzola, after traveling 4,3 km, through some sections of rock, we arrive at the Collado de Linza which is located at 1936 meters high. It is a good time to stop, enjoy the landscape, take photos and have some refreshments.
We descend slightly, approximately 1,1 km and we find a fork in the path, the one on the right leads to the Petretxema mountain, 2371 meters high, on the border with France. The path on the left is the continuation of our path along which we went down to the Hoya de Solana, there is a post with paddles that indicates several long-distance paths, including the direction and time to get to the Mesa de los Tres Reyes .
About 700 meters further along the path on the right, we reach the Hoya del Portillo de Larra. The approved signaling marks are replaced by milestones, we remain attentive to the path with our sights set on the objective.
We continue the ascent for 2,2 km along a rocky path full of cracks and chasms until we reach the Mesa de los Tres Reyes, in the last section we need to climb a little. At the top we find a mailbox, a replica of Xavier's Castle and the image of San Francisco Xavier, the patron saint of Navarre. The views of karst landscapes are impressive. To return we took the same path we did to go up there.
-It is a long route that requires being in shape, but the route is affordable and only the last section has some technical difficulty.
-You can spend the night in the Linza shelter and from there go to crown the Table of the Three Kings.
-Carry plenty of water because you will not find any source along the way.
-Take into account the weather conditions, we are in high mountains and the necessary precautions must be taken.
