ROUTE: Short and simple. It circles the Ferial reservoir.
Start: dam of the Ferial reservoir. From the access road to the Fair Services Building, cross the dam's crown dam. Along tracks in good condition, the route goes around the reservoir in an anti-clockwise direction, passing through the Val de la Fuente del Ferial, the main natural contribution of the Ferial (reservoir whose waters come mostly from the Acequia de Navarre). In the final section, you travel on a track parallel to said canal, so caution is necessary.
Embalse del Ferial: this humid paradise that breaks the traditional scheme of extreme dryness that reigns in these moors. It has an area of 30 square kilometers and a capacity of 8130 cubic hectometers that uses the water to irrigate the surrounding Bardenera lands. In the reservoir there is a recreation area, with restaurant service, in which the predominant activity is fishing. Within the water we can find species such as: trout, tench, black bass, marsh crab and signal crab. The great variety of aquatic animals makes it a good place for bird watching in the reservoir itself and its surroundings.
In these places, the typical Bardenera fauna and flora intermingle in a strange symbiosis with that of more humid environments in such a way that we can observe, for example, steppe birds and soon see Reed Warblers, Waders or Ducks among others.
