The route runs along the fertile banks of the Aragón River, climbs the mountain and crosses the plains of Larrate through a dense forest, a kind of plateau of extensive cereal fields. Along the way we will find a pleasant area prepared for swimming, with picnic areas and shady meadows next to a long dam that joins the two banks of the mighty Aragón River. Already at the top of the mountain we will look out at the Larrate viewpoint that dominates the valley. On your way back to Carcastillo, don't forget to visit the Cistercian monastery of La Oliva.
Distance: 9,6 km. Circular
PRACTICAL TIPS
-The route can be done in both directions. Our recommendation is that if it is summer, and the heat is intense, go first towards the mountains and halfway there, stop to swim in the Aragón and return along the well-cooled plain.
-The route is varied, the river, the forest, the views and, in general, it is conveniently signposted.
-You can go directly to the bathing area with the vehicle and then, if you wish, take a walk through the forest.
-Once the route is finished, we recommend going to Carcastillo to eat or have a beer and don't forget to visit the Oliva monastery.
