San Martín de Unx is a town with narrow, steep streets that has churches of an exquisite Romanesque style and is also what we could call a “silhouette town”, which we will see if we follow the route that we present here. The views of San Martín de Unx and the wide panoramic view of the Navarrese shore from the summits are the main attraction of these paths. The landscape is Mediterranean, a low forest in which we will find holm oak, rosemary, thyme, juniper, juniper... and a diverse fauna. And in the valley the vineyards that produce the fruit with which rosé is made, the wine par excellence of the wineries in the area.
Route 8,2 km. Circular.
PRACTICAL TIPS
-You will find a large parking lot going up San Salvador Street. We recommend first visiting San Martín de Unx, a town of Romanesque churches and old streets with steep slopes.
-It is a circular route but in this case it is preferable to do it in the direction that we indicate here, because once on the crest of the mountain you will be able to better enjoy the wide panoramic views.
-It has some signage and is generally easy to follow. We advise you to wear long pants since, although the roads are clean, it is an area of bushes and low mountains.
-The route, if the heat is severe, can become arid because there are hardly any shadows.
-Once finished, we recommend that you recharge your batteries in the restaurants and bars of San Martín de Unx, and visit and buy wine at the wineries in the area.
