URZAINQUI
Going up the road that takes us to the Belagua valley, we find a small and beautiful town typical of the Roncalesa mountain. Between the mountains, ravine and on the edge of the Esca river, is the hamlet of Urzainqui. In the background, the Ecegorria rock and the vertical slopes of Mount Aristoya that seem to swallow up the town located in the vegetal jaws of those mountains. In this small town we find some surprising monuments such as:
Proto-Gothic church from the beginning of the 13th century, to which a portico was added in the 16th century and some side naves in the Baroque. Among the silverware pieces, a Gothic reliquary with the Pamplona mark of the town of San Cernin and the Renaissance processional cross stand out. It is worth highlighting the painting on panel from the 16th century that represents an Ecce Homo of a Flemish character.
It was the old parish church and belongs to the same style and chronology as the church: built in Gothic style and restored in Baroque style. It has a nave with three sections and a straight head that is covered by cross vaults. Inside, the carving of the owner, belonging to the Gothic style of the 14th century, and a crucifix with characters from the Flemish tradition stand out.
Typical construction of the area rebuilt in 1984.
Construction from the 16th century with a large doorway with large voussoirs and an escutcheon with an anagram of Christ on the keystone.
Located in the Castillo or Ingruñia neighborhood: the lintel portal and a neoclassical shield on the balcony of the noble floor stand out.
